It is difficult to find HEALTHY DOG TREATS on the market. I grew so tired of trying to find anything that did not contain ingredients I had to look up or chemical preservatives and worse - known carcinogens like Canola oil. I also wanted treats that were made in the USA but then could not find where they sourced their ingredients even if made in the USA. I've heard horror stories about vitamins and minerals that are bulk ordered from China and then used in all our dog food and treats and there is no accountability. Research says that once processed with high heat in manufacturing the ingredients are downgraded or their chemical makeup changes to poisons. I also chose not to use any meat, chicken, fish or any by-products from same. It's next to impossible to know the real source and to ensure quality.
There are so many dogs with gastrointestinal problems, skin and itching problems, cancer, etc. that I did not want to give them something else that could cause any issues or make existing ones worse. I just wanted simple delicious ingredients for my dogs that are healthy, they can enjoy, and I could give without fear of causing any illness, sickness or diseases down the road.
So, I started baking my own and I then realized if I was going to put that kind of time and effort into making their treats I also wanted Non GMO, organic or pure ingredients, so I source the best ingredients to not only reward them with healthy treats, but to assist in making them more healthy as well as boost their immune systems and maybe even make some treats for specific issues.
After experimenting with many different types of treats I am proud to offer these HEALTHY DOG TREATS that accomplishes just that, and my dogs and others LOVE THEM!

PUMPKIN SPICE: I wanted to make Pumpkin Pie Spice but Nutmeg and Cloves may not be good for our dogs, but I did add the Ginger and of course, Cinnamon! I kept the other healthy ingredients; dehydrated apples, bananas & carrots, along with additional Organic Apple Sauce to get that Pumpkin Pie flavor. As you know, pumpkin is really great to assist with diarrhea and constipation. Pumpkin is high in fiber.
I have not met a dog yet that does not love pumpkin!

ORIGINAL RECIPE: I took a lot of time to create this recipe and as you can see the ingredients are VERY HEALTHY, great for their system, and they are Non GMO and either organic or pure and loved by all dogs. I dehydrate organic apples, bananas and carrots to reduce the size and so the treats keep much longer. They end up being much sweeter, too! I grow my own Rosemary and add it as a natural preservative. I use natural sea salt and organic fed, cage free chicken eggs as well.
My dogs are now trying to herd me to the treat stash to get more and I feel great giving them!

ORIGINAL RECIPE TRAINERS I had a lot of people asking for a smaller size to be used as a PAWSITIVE REWARD while training, especially for puppies! This is a smaller version of the Original Recipe and had to leave out the Dehydrated Apples, Bananas & Carrots and added Organic Apple Sauce. I replaced the Organic Peanut Butter with Organic Peanut Butter Powder as well.

COOL MINT COOKIE: We all know tartar and plaque are of great concern for our dogs, and us too! We have many products and simple visits to the dentist to help us. Dogs have to be sedated to get their teeth clean and clear of tartar and plaque, which is sad, possibly harmful, and expensive. I've tried many of the dog bones and products on the market for their teeth with no success and my dogs just do not like them. I researched ingredients that are proven to help and came up with this recipe. First and foremost, a specific type of sea kelp is proven to reduce tartar and plaque and is used in the top selling products, so I added Organic Icelandic Sea Kelp as the main ingredient! I added Organic Thyme since it is also known to help and is included in toothpaste made for us and for dogs.
Peppermint, Mint, and Parsley were added to freshen their breathe for all those kisses while you're working on reducing the tartar build up!

GOLD NUGGETS: Very excited about these treats, which I could not find available on the market! My older Aussie is now showing signs of arthritis so I made her these special treats, GOLD NUGGETS, which contains Turmeric (GOLD) and Ginger, both of which have strong anti inflammatory properties. I would like to avoid prescription anti inflammatory medications, as they can cause minor to severe gastro issues, bleeding or worse. Turmeric Paste is a well known recipe for helping dogs (and people) with arthritis and the immune system. These treats contain the same basic ingredients, including pepper. Ginger is not only a great anti inflammatory, but also aids in digestion and helps with gastrointestinal issues and nausea. Vitamin E boosts the immune system and helps maintain healthy skin, coat, joints, muscles and the heart. I added a touch of Oregano which also helps with arthritis. The mixture of Turmeric, Ginger and Vitamin E is used in products on the market for dogs that itch and have skin conditions, especially useful if the condition is not understood or diagnosed.
I combined all these great ingredients to help dogs with arthritis, joint pain, itching, gastrointestinal issues, and overall health for the entire system, including the immune and cardiovascular systems.
